Zacatlán, whose name comes from the Nahuatl words meaning “place where grass is abundant,” is located about 3 hours from Mexico City. It between mountains has a cold temperate and humid climate. The town is known for its natural and traditional atmosphere, with major tourist attractions such as its floral clock, the glass lookout point, waterfalls, the former Franciscan convent, and its traditional dishes especially those made with apples, like its famous artisanal cider.

Very close to Zacatlán is located Pueblo Mágico of Chignahuapan, whose name comes from the Nahuatl meaning “over the nine waters,” in reference to the abundance of springs, rivers, and bodies of water in the region. It is surrounded by mountains, forests, and rivers, but is especially famous for its Christmas ornaments, as it is one of the largest producers of hand-blown glass ornaments in Mexico. One of its most important events is the National Tree and Ornament Fair. Both destinations offer an unforgettable experience.

This is a private and personalized tour only for you and your love ones. The total duration is 13 hours and taking the transfers time. Usually it takes 3.5 hours early in the morning from the central touristic areas.

35 METERS QUETZALAPAN WATERFALL (OPTIONAL)

This is our first stop. Not recommended for people with mobility problems. It's worth descending more than 400 steps to admire the cascading Quetzalapan waterfall, where we can take incredible photos. We will stay around 1 hour here

-We'll visit the famous floral clock, one of Zacatlán’s most recognizable landmarks.

-We’ll stroll through the town’s charming and picturesque alleys, admiring its colonial architecture.

-A stop at the Franciscan Ex-Convent will offer a glimpse into the region’s rich history and religious heritage.

-Finally, we’ll visit one of Zacatlán’s most traditional and beloved bakeries, where you’ll enjoy a delicious artisan bread filled with cheese.

During this 2-hour tour, we will explore some of Chignahuapan most iconic spots:

We will begin our visit at the Christmas ornament factory, where you will have the opportunity to purchase hand-crafted ornaments and holiday decorations.

Next, we will proceed to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, which is notable for housing the world’s largest indoor statue of the Virgin Mary, standing at an impressive height of 14 meters.

We will continue our tour at the iconic Chignahuapan Lagoon, a natural landmark of the region.

Finally, we will visit the town’s main square (zócalo), where you will be amazed by the many shops that offer Christmas ornaments and decorations all year round.

At this moment We are a small growing agency. Our agency has 1 new vehicle 2025 + 3 new vans 2024. So when the tour is from 1-3 people the vehicle is a car (it can be our new vehicle or the vehicle of your guide). We use a van or minivan after 4 people.

Usually if the tour is for 1 to 3 people the guide is the same driver. After 4 people We use a van with 10/13 seats or minivan for 7 passsengers. Usually in minivan is the same guide the driver.
