Today, El Oro offers a combination of architectural charm and natural attractions, making it a fascinating destination to discover.

The next Pueblo Mágico is nestled in the mountains of the state of Michoacán. Tlalpujahua is a charming town that blends its mining history, cobbled streets, colonial architecture, and a renowned artisanal tradition.

Above all, Tlalpujahua is famous for its handcrafted Christmas ornaments, meticulously made by local families and exported around the world. From October to December, the town hosts the Feria de la Esfera (Christmas Ornament Fair), transforming Tlalpujahua into the magical “Town of Eternal Christmas.”

This is a private and personalized tour only for you and your love ones. The total duration is 13 hours and taking the transfers time. This tour includes private transport, pick up and drop off at your address in Mexico city, your tourist guide/driver, entrances to archaeological zone, 1 bottle of water and 1 little bag of snacks per person. Upon arriving at the magical town of El Oro, we will stroll through its charming cobblestone streets, where we can enjoy a breakfast with coffee accompanied by the local biscuits.

TOUR TIME :

During our time exploring El Oro, we will visit the Municipal Palace, built in the 20th century with neoclassical influences; the Juárez Theater, inaugurated in 1907 in the Art Nouveau style, where renowned artists once performed; the impressive view of the San Juan Shaft, a massive 493m (1617ft) deep pit with a glass floor; the Mining Museum and the old train station, located in a former mine and railway station respectively, where you can see machinery, photographs, tunnels, trains, and enjoy traditional local food.

ARRIVAL AT TLALPUJAHUA

Just 20 minutes from "El Oro", we'll arrive at the town of Tlalpujahua, also know as the "Village of Eternal Christmas"

TOUR TIME :

3 HOURS OF TOUR

Upon arriving in the town of Tlalpujahua, we will visit a museum set inside an original mine, featuring a guided tour through tunnels, workshops, and photographs of the mining world. Next, we’ll visit the Temple of Our Lady of Carmen, originally built in the 18th century and later rebuilt after a landslide destroyed much of the town. We’ll also explore the López Rayón House Museum, the birthplace of the insurgent leaders, now turned into a museum that highlights their role in Mexico’s independence. Finally, we’ll visit one of the most iconic places in town the artisanal Christmas ornament factory.

Yes. A private tour only for you and your special people. At this moment We don’t have groupal tours.

-What type of vehicle?

At this moment We are a small growing agency. Our agency has 1 new vehicle 2025 + 3 new vans 2024. So when the tour is from 1-3 people the vehicle is a car (it can be our new vehicle or the vehicle of your guide). We use a van or minivan after 4 people.

-Is My guide the same driver?

Usually if the tour is for 1 to 3 people the guide is the same driver. After 4 people We use a van with 10/13 seats or minivan for 7 passsengers. Usually in minivan is the same guide the driver.

-Have the guides a certification?

Our team is made by local guides, lovers of our culture and destinations. They have a lot of experience in our tours: driving & the story. OF COURSE SOMETIMES WE WORK WITH CERTIFICATE GUIDES. WHEN THE CUSTOMER REQUEST FOR A CERTIFICATE GUIDE WE CAN DO IT (WITH EXTRA COST)
