The archaeological Zone of Tlatelolco, located in the northern part of Mexico City’s Historic Center, was one of the main commercial and political hubs of pre-Hispanic Mexico. Founded by the Mexica in 1337 as a sister city to Tenochtitlan, Tlatelolco was renowned for its large market, considered the most important in Mesoamerica, where thousands gathered to trade goods. This site also witnessed one of the most significant events in Mexican history: the fall of the Mexica Empire, as the final battle against the Spanish conquerors took place here on August 13, 1521. Today, the ruins of temples, altars, and ceremonial structures stand alongside the Church of Santiago and the Plaza of the Three Cultures, symbolizing the blend of pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern eras.

Your guide will contact you before pick up time. The pick up will be at your accommodation address. You can choose the pick up time from 8 am to 2 pm. Our recommendation is 9 or 10 am.

Usually it takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour early in the morning from the central touristic areas. If your pick up is afternoon it can take more time due to traffic.

TOUR TIME :

1 AND A HALF TO 2 HOURS OF TOUR

During the 1 and a half to 2 hours tour, you will explore the archaeological site of Tlatelolco, founded in 1337 by a group of Mexica who separated from Tenochtitlan. It remained an independent city for much of its existence and was renowned for its massive market, described by Hernán Cortés as the largest and most organized in all of Mesoamerica. At the heart of the site, you can still see remains of temples, altars, ceremonial platforms, and traces of administrative buildings. The Templo Mayor of Tlatelolco is one of the most prominent structures in the complex.

At this moment We are a growing agency. Our agency has 1 new vehicle 2025 + 3 new vans 2024. So when the tour is from 1-3 people the vehicle is a car (it can be our new vehicle or the vehicle of your guide). We use a van or minivan after 4 people.

-Is my guide the same driver?

Usually if the tour is for 1 to 3 people the guide is the same driver. After 4 people We use a van with 10/13 seats or minivan for 7 passengers. Usually in van is a guide + a driver and in minivan is the same guide the driver.
