The Nevado de Toluca, also known as Xinantécatl, is an extinct volcano located just a couple of hours from Mexico City, offering one of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in central Mexico. Standing at over 15,092 ft above sea level, it is the fourth highest peak in the country and is renowned for its impressive crater, which shelters two beautiful alpine lakes: Laguna del Sol and Laguna de la Luna (13 800 ft).
